    excellent thread, Dave!!

Did you know that there is more calcuim in skimmed milk than full-fat milk?

When the first American people came from England, they wanted to be different. They created a sport (american football) and called it football to mock the english. They then called it Soccer, soccer only to see it as a joke because they wear long socks, ie. "Socker." They also created a simple version of cricket and called it baseball.

From a cool book called "Book of Facts and Lists":

    1. If all the water in the atmosphere fell as rain at the same time, it would cover the entire surface of the Earth with 2.5cm (1inch to some of you) of water.

    2. The largest wheatfield in Alberta, Canada, covered an area of 142sq km (55sq miles). That added up to nearly 20,000 football (soccer to you US) pitches.

    3. On the shores of the northern Pacific Ocean, the force of the waves in winter is equivalent to the impact of a car crashing into a wall at 145Km (90miles) an hour. Storm waves on the east coast of North America tossed a 61Kg (135lb) rock 28m (91ft) high -- on to the roof of a lighthouse.

    4. If all the salt was taken out of the seas and spread over the land surface of the Earth, there would be a layer of salt 152m (500ft) thick.

5.? forget it -- requests for more, let me know!

    Excellent thread, btw, davep.

You can't fart and sneeze at the same time...

There will always be a little delay. I'm guessing that it's your bodies natural way of preventing your lungs from turning inside out.....
