I'm building tutorial for a program and it supposed to run on 1024 X 768 resolution. The problem is that on the clients screens, the screenshots of the program (who are 1024 x 768) get all distorted in that resolution. They've tried it on 3 different computers and on all of them the screen shots look totally thrashed in 1024, but not in higher resolutions.

I can't seem to make this happen on any of my computers, so I'm having a hard time figuring out what's gone wrong. The screen shots are imported gifs and they'r placed on 0x and 0y and are set not to allow smoothing. The distortion that appears looks to me like the images are compressed or scaled to a slightly smaller size.

Help with figuring this one out would be enormously appreciated!

a url would be helpful :)

It would be helpful if you included a url so we could look at the movie ourselves. If the problem is repeatable on our end we might be able to diagnose it.

Of course I have some sample files, here's the address to the swf and a simplified fla. Thank you for your help!

    Simple answer:

Your movie scales with the window size, so your graphics scale accordingly!

You need to make it so that the movie is always the same size (pixel dimensions).

I have had a similar problem, but using PNG photo in this case. This client's flash site wants the Flash to scale to window size. The photos have jagged edges when scaled up or down in the window

However in a test the photo, a PNG converted to graphic symbol, expands smoothly with the window. THAT IS if it just occupies one frame. If I add one blank frame after it, it will scale jagged.

    Here are the examples:

    http://urbanwetlands.com/test/test1.swf
    http://urbanwetlands.com/test/test1.fla
This swf scales smooth when opened from FlashPlayer or a webbrowser.

    and

    http://urbanwetlands.com/test/test2.swf
    http://urbanwetlands.com/test/test2.fla
This swf is the same exact with a blank frame after the first frame with symbol. Now it will not scale smoothly. What is up with this?

Should I give up and insist the movie be a fixed size in order to get the best photo reproduction? Why does adding one blank frame mess up the quality? Is this a bug?

    Thanks
