    How can I get a quicktime movie to load into my projector(exe). Lets say for instance if I click a button and then have the quicktime movie show up on the screen. Is this possible to accomplish or will I have to embed my movie into the projector, which I am trying to avoid do to the projector taking 5 minutes to load.

    if your movie can be played in Media Player, then LPFlashEx Multimedia Edition can be handy.

    For a quick test, you can download the Simple Example (64K), unzip it, open the MMSimpleExample.fla and change the filename in the frame 1 to your file, publish it to projector and run it.

    If it work, you can goto our site and download the formal Multimedia Edition with full example in Playing movies and PDF. (179KB)

    Just export your Quicktime movies as SWF files from flash (import them first into a new flash file with the same dimensions as your movie) or use Sorenson Squeeze (http://www.sorenson.com).

    Use 'loadMovie' just as you would any other SWF.
    It's pretty straight ahead.

    A side note to all this is that the QT Player can be skinned to look like anything you want, it Plays Flash 4 (If you have QT 5) and Flash 5 (If you haver the Beta of QT 6) and can do a lot more than the Flash Player itself... better yet the skin can be delivered specifically for only your media- meaning that only your skin will play with your file.

    This is the Tut on how to SKIN the QT Player http://www.apple.com/quicktime/produ...ls/mediaskins/

    The tools to do this are an Image Editor, Notepad, and QT Pro- Asuming you have an Image editor already;

    MS Paint if you have absoulutly nothing else however I strongly suggest that you grab something a little nicer. You can always download a free editor like;

    The GIMP http://www.gimp.org

    Pixia http://www.tacmi.co.jp/pixia/, another free Image Editor, tends to be more stable but not having quite as many features as the GIMP...

    anyhow there are a ton of capable free editors (My Personal picks are the Gimp, Pixia, and DogWaffle) and there are also a slew of Lowcost editors (In Case you feel you must absoulutly purchase one);

    My picks for under $50 are MGI's Photosuite http://www.roxio.com and MediaChance's Real Draw Pro http://www.mediachance.com

    My picks for under $100 are Photo Shop Expresions http://www.adobe.com , Corel Essentials http://www.corel.com , and Ulead's Photo Impact 7 http://www.ulead.com

    For Under $150 my Picks are Creature House Expresions 2 http://www.creaturehouse.com/ or Xara X http://www.xara.com

    Besides an Image editor you also need QT Pro which costs an amazing $29.99.

    The tutorial is step by step and easy to follow.

    Anyhow this has come up a lot on whether or not to use Flash to import QT or use QT to Import Flash...

    The Answer as to what you want to do depends on several things. The firts thing you need to ask yourself is what is the purpose and length of what you are doing. If you have a very long video, Your MOV file used the advanced Features in QT, you want to keep some of the files external (Except MP3 and JPG), or the video is very long then use the QT and bring the Flash into QT as a Flash Track.

    If You are working with a limited number of files types (The Flash Player itself can only handle SWF, JPG, and MP3), absoulutly do not want the User to Install anything else, and the work is relativly short then use a Flash projector.

    If you still want to keep the advantages of a projector but want to use Real or WMF (Or any other MS format not handled by QT) then you want to consider a projector enhancer. Flash Jester (Jugglor), MNS (FlashNPack), Northerncodeworks (SWF Studio), Logic Plus( LPFlashEX Media Edition),and Flash Ants (FMProjector) are just a few of the Flash Projector Enhancement companies out there qwith products to merge Flash and Video.

    On top of Projector Enhancements you also have more traditional Multi Media companies and tools which can handle both Video and Flash such as Multi Media Fusion, Multi Media Builder, and Neobook. Also don't forget that MM Director also can do this.
