    Can you paste the code you're using to load in the text file? That's probably where the problem lies..

    With this line...

    loadVariablesNum ("./yourtext.txt", 0);

    ...you're loading your variables into _level0. But, if I understand correctly, the place where you want the text to appear is inside intro.swf (loaded into your MC target_clip).

    You need to change the above line of code so that the variables are loaded into the target_clip MC.

    Try this:

    loadVariables ("./yourtext.txt", "_root.target_clip");

    Make sure the MC target_clip is onstage before you use the loadVariables command.

    Helps?

    some problems...

    hi boris...thanks again. it helps. the text appear though, but the scroll bar wont work? is it calling the main movie?

    one of the scroll button (UP) is with this action:

    on (press) {
    tellTarget ("uptrigger") {
    gotoAndPlay (2);
    }
    }
    on (release) {
    tellTarget ("uptrigger") {
    gotoAndStop (1);
    }
    }

    how should i make it work so that it call the intro.swf file instead of the main movie file huh?

    for up trigger is this:

    on (press) {
    tellTarget ("uptrigger") {
    gotoAndPlay (2);
    }
    }
    on (release) {
    tellTarget ("uptrigger") {
    gotoAndStop (1);
    }
    }

    down trigger is this :

    on (press) {
    tellTarget ("downtrigger") {
    gotoAndPlay (2);
    }
    }
    on (release) {
    tellTarget ("downtrigger") {
    gotoAndStop (1);
    }
    }

    in each trigger MC,
    there r 3 frames.
    each frame has this action:

    1st frame action:

    stop()

    2nd frame action:

    /text:scroll = /text:scroll-1;

    3rd frame action:

    gotoAndPlay (2);

    so anyone know how to call the target_clip to scroll the external text up n down though the text is already loaded?
    pls reply...urgent..!!!
