It's for the improvement of the Mac flash player, it's badly written, slow peice of junk that needs improvement!

Keep 'em polite people, it's going to Macromedia once it's been filled up.
(if you wanna flame me about Macs and all that, do it in this thread )

    cheers swampy!

You may not use Macs, but if a client or a visitor to your site does, and it runs really badly...who they gonna blame

Um, you obviously havn't tried XP or 2k they will make ya rethink your view on Wingdows. But, he might not have been refering to Wingdows, he could have been usin *nix, BSD, sun, .etc

Lets not get into this...the point of this thread is that the Mac Player has been badly written for macintoshes for the last 3 versions (4, 5 &6), and the only reason is because Macromedia haven't put any effort in...

as for XP and 2K, i have used them, and i still think the interface is just as clunky and unintuitive as it always has been, just in xp they hide it with 'wizards' and all that crap...

    1 ghz
    1 meg half speed cache
risc (anyone know the complete number of instructions?)

    vs

    p4
    55,000,000 transistors
    2.2ghz
    256k full speed cache.

I won't even go into the advantages of RISC vs. CISC, or mixed environments.

That's a long, lengthy discussion. You have to get into the OS, how the threads are initiated and processed by the CPU, as well as the instructions and the timing thereof, memory bus access speeds/throughput, as well as other things.

same reason why a MIPS12k processor, pure RISC, is faster and more efficient than a 2.2ghz P4 CISC processor at less than half the speed. go figure.

risc vs cisc.. from what I have read the two are meeting up in the middle(for the most part in pc's ).

gee hope i didn't prematurely kill a good mac vs pc war

my dual p3 xeon destroys all
my twin su carbs destroy all to
my twin black lab puppies really do destroy all

Now, if you'll excuse me I am going to go and rent a video or 2, drink my beers, and then read my paper. Good day.
