    Question

Hi! I created a mouse trail using the tutorial on this site. But I would like to make a text mouse trail. I tried it using the steps in the tutorial here. But the text comes out centered on the mouse. How do I get the text to actually trail the mouse? I have tried a couple of things but no luck. I have also looked around for a tutorial just for text mouse trails, but couldn't find any. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Have you set the "hotspots" of your text symbols properly? This is the plus-sign-thing which you see when creating symbols. I've not done any mouse trailers, but it would make sense that the symbols which are trailing the pointer will align to the hotspot. If you put the text to the right of this, perhaps it will appear to the right of the pointer.

    Maybe

If you check the movies section of this site you will find what you are looking for. You can download the .fla and tear it apart to see how it works.
