Here is the thing. I have been working the whole night throu to make a realistic water-effect. Now its finished, but it eats my cpu, so Im considering not to have it in my new site. Or should I give the sh*t a chance? Please test it and tell me how much of your cpu it ate.

Well, I can't tell you how much it eats on mine since I have so many background tasks running including UD Agent (which uses all free CPU) but I didn't notice any problems.

    P4-1.8G... No problems!
I would mask the whole thing though, as to not see the expanding strips on each side of the screen!

well, for reference, i have a p2 350 and it munches back 94% of my cpu power(or lack thereof), but it still runs buttery smooth. even full screen @ 1600x1200. i'd say keep it... noone looks at their task manager while surfing anyway

thanx for replying guys! I have no idea what the hell is wrong with my piece of crap-pc. Its a amd 700 mhz with about 320 mB of ram and the thing uses 100% of cpu. I wanted to use the effect as background effect in my new site, and I was afraid that other animations would run slow. I guess Ill have to have "low quality",as this test, in order to make the whole site run smooth (and making the gen-code stop when necessary). If theres something a dislike, is when I come to a cool designed site, with animations tha makes it look as the flash was set to 4 fps on computers under 1 ghz.

When you check the CPU usage, are you going to the processes or performance tab of the task manager? Go tot he processes to get the usage of the individual IE window...
