Preloading a movie

I'm not sure if this is what preloaders are for or not, (never used one) but my problem is that my animation pauses because it is still loading while playing. Is there a way to fully load the file, and THEN play it thus ensuring a smooth animation?

that's exactly what a preloader if for. If you don't create it, your movie will continue to STREAM and run out of playing options once it runs to the point to where it has to stop. Flashkit has wonderful tutorials. It's a must for people
