Editing Digital Video Clips

I would like to import some Quicktime movies (digital video clips), alter their size and export them as sequential bitmaps to use in Flash. I can't really afford to purchase Adobe Premier or any other $600 proggie for that matter. I was wondering if anyone might have a more cost effective solution/program that would work. Thanks in advance.

'quicktime 4 pro' is good and cheap (~$50 i think)and is ok for simple editing jobs
Not for big projects but ok for editing small clips.
