please help with importing movies to use and edit

Hi i was wondering if someone could please help me learn to import a movie (say from the movie clips) and edit it (ie add sound, buttons...)
When i import the movie file it just shows up on the scene as one frame. how do i get it to show the timeline for the movie so i can edit it? any help would be great!

Hi Imaplayah, try open the library, right click the movie clip and click edit. this will show the timeline for that movies.Try clicking the help on the flash, it really works.
