    Thumbs down

    hello all.
    Got an old-new question:
what is the maximum framerate that will play on all platforms? 15, 18?

The flash player 5 wouldn't play faster than 15 fps on macs.

    any input?

    thanks,
    FF

Curious! I allways heard & thought Macs wouldn't play well at all under a framerate of 31 fps in Flash 5! And I've seen numerous movies with a framerate over 60 fps play fine on PCs at least. Might not be the case with the first pentiums, but since...

mac continues to choke on any framerate, even with OSX. i've developed on macs for years and 31 is still the best rate to work with. just keep your animation slim.

I've just been mucking around with the framerate on Windows 98 128MB RAM - PIII 450mhz with flash 6 - movie was made in flash MX. I set the frame rate of my current movie to 100 the frame rates jumps around in the region of about 85-103. I was pretty impressed with the speed actually. (please note my movie is using frame by frame gif images rather than CPU consuming vector stuff but I was running the animation when I took the screenshot!
