I am trying to produce an animation in which when the mouse gets close to a squirrel, the squirrel follows a certain path and runs up a tree. The pointer will never touch the squirrel until it runs up the tree and is locked to a certian position. The squirrel will also orient itself so that on the ground is is running horizontally and then vertically up the tree. If the pointer moves away from the squirrel, the squirrel will stop. This action will be similar to the start drag action although the pointer is not inside the object. Can such be done in Flash?

Just make an invisible button that is the size and shape you want the hit area to be. (invisible buttons are made without the up, over, down states its just the hit state.) then just make a continues motion button. If you need more help with this send me an email. Regards, Bill

In the beginning the web was without shape and color, and the hype covered the darkness of the net. Then there was a Flash and life came to the web and vision became reality.
