multiplayer environment -> please help!

Hey guys please help me out. I've been doing research on the subject 'multiplayer/user environments' for a while. This all in order to write a paper for school. Due to a crash of my computer all my data is gone, bookmarks, documentation; EVERYTHING!

So my question to you guys is; if you have seen documentation online regarding this subject please send me urls, if you have any documentation laying around email it to me! My paper is due in 4 weeks, please help!

they got a huge amount of tutorials on almost any subject concerning gamemaking... they're not targeting flash, but your paper doesn't seem to be doing that either so....
