Hack and design?

I'd like to hear your opinion about this issue:

one of the main problems to be a designer is have enough money to have all software and hardware for it: A mac, a wacom tablet, scanner, printer, camera, Adobe software, Flash, 3d software.....

I also think the quality of the designs also depend on the software you use. There's a big difference between using Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop, right?

The problem is money: do you all have enough money to buy everything is needed. Isn't cracked software a nice solutions for the poor designers?....just a point of view (I'm not saying I have cracked software).....

what do you (!) prefer:
cracked software and save some cash
or normal software and being a "poor designer"?

i prefer the 1st one...

i prefer cracked software, make money....have enough money....buy legal software.....retire.....

Another problem is this:

ok, you buy legal software...lets say Flash MX, you own it, it comes in a nice little box, you use it for about a year, and then, a new improved version Flash 7 comes out.....damn, you have to upgrade your software and it costs....100, 200, 300 USD? again....and next year a new version, and buy an upgrade.....the story never ends....

If you design and play for yourself - you loose money.
If you have a company - let the client pay.

That's business.
Every cracked software means "poor" programmer!

you guys do know that warez or admitting to use of warez is against the rules.. right? (i'd either delete these posts or hope no one finds em... you can get banned)

if you're going to make money off the software, the least you can do is pay for it, if not, there are student licenses that are much cheaper.

if you arent making any money.. consider another field or something?

if you were a carpenter you'd have to buy tools too, you might start out with cheaper tools, but then if you make money you can then get better tools, then the best tools. (start with a cheaper SWF outputter .. flash 5 even, it has good functionality, and you can get an upgrade later on)

then get an educational version or something, you arent entitled to free software .. if you want a free image editing program get the GIMP or something similar

if u are dedicated to do the job get a loan or borrow the money from your folks, if u cant by legal stuff get a job and earn the money

or look for a job where u have no outlay (supermarket, bus driver)

it makes me laugh that ppl are posting how do i do this etc then when i look at there .fla its in mx (which i have not bought yet) and yes i do this as a job

sadly alot of the ppl on FK i think are using rogue copies

i hope they see this

same kinda thing when people are like "How do i make scanlines? i have photoshop 7, and 3ds max 5, if that helps!!"

that doesnt look suspicious at all!

the issue on internet, is that it can't be controlled. There are always ways to pass through security....look at mp3's.....napster went down, but there are still a lot of software and networks that let you share your music...eventually the industry may shutdown all these sites, but people will always find a new way to break tehe rules. The same thing happens with software, right? hackers and crackers can't be controlled.

Of course, now imagine this...you buy your software, spend 300USD, and then someone hacks your license and SN...awfull!!!!

Everything has two sides......

But still, I do think design software is too expensive....they should sink the prices more and more!

why do u think its so expensive ?

because only a few ppl buy it, if everyone paid the money they could drop the prices, its the same as shoplifting if a store loses 1 million a year from theft, we the buying public pay more for goods in the shop to make up the 1 mill lost

I agree with buying the software if you got money to burn! I don't!............... They create an ok version and then 3 months later come at you with a upgrade?? What the hell! They screw us over...........They get screwed

(I use: Flash 5,Flash MX, Photoshop 7, Fireworks MX etc....)

why do u think they upgrade stuff ?, do u think it takes them 10 minutes to do, and all the programmers are on $1.oo per hour

they make things better for us to use, easier, faster etc
