    Ok I have a corporate client who is concerned about "What happens if a user goes to the flash site and they dont have the flash player?"....

    Now what I need to know is how to set it up so that a browser automaticly detects if they have a player and if its the full update and IF NOT it should automaticly download and install the latest update.....

    Now Im about 90% sure that Ive seen information on how to do this on macromedias web site, but i cant seem to find it SO if someone could

    a. tell me how to do this or
    b. direct me to a page on macromedia

    That would be incredibly helpfull and save me from loosing this client... =b

    thanx in advance,
    Mike

    _root.version = getVersion;
    if (_root.version = true) {
    gotoAndPlay(whatever);
    } else if (_root.version = false) {
    stop();
    getURL("http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash", "_blank");
    }

    place the above on frame 1 of the main timeline of your movie.
    It will continue to play the movie if the user has the player, and it will get the download page if they don't.
    This script can be altered any way you like to fit your movie.

    How will it goto the download page if they don't have Flash? Flash doesn't play without Flash, so how can Flash play (which starts the script) if they don't have Flash?
