Old dog learning new tricks
I publish my presentation in pc and mac projector format. But when I try to run the .hqx file in a mac, it doesn't work! It doesn't recognize the format. My knowledge in macs is close to zero. Any secret details I should know?
Please help, the cd was supposed to go to production today.
Thanks in advance.

I had an issue just like this a few weeks ago with a CD I produced. Unfortunately I couldn't find a PC related solution. My best suggestion would be to find someone who has a Mac you can use. Create the .hqx on a copy of Flash on the Mac. Take all of your other files and then burn the whole CD from the Mac. That worked for me. Hope it helps.
If someone else has a better workaround, I'd love to hear it too.

Thanks man for the advice. Unforunately to find a mac with flash is almost impossible for me.

Hey k-giannis,
I stumbled on another post in the Mac forum that might help.

I have never tried this program myself, but it might help.
Good Luck.

Thanks, I'll try that too.

I'm pretty sure that this is PC only.
Read the thread that was posted in the MAC forum it pretty much explains it...
Again I encourage people to either rent time on a MAC from a place like Kinkos or purchase a used MAC for testing.

Ok...
Yep my fault but it was said in the first post that they use PC's so I thought that the link I posted may help. Plus some of the functions may stay when the image is created with CDeverywhere. I own a G4 powerbook and do all my web and DV work on Macs but by all means keep encouraging.

Ehh.. The file is compressed. Use Stuffit Expander to decompress it..

Check these threads:

And, as johnie said, FAQ at Mac forum should be a place to start.
Hope this helps

Well... the answer was quite simple and it exists in Flash's Help:
The Windows version of Flash names a Macintosh projector file with the .hqx extension. You can create a Macintosh projector using the Windows versions of Flash, but you must use a file translator such as BinHex to make the resulting file appear as an application file in the Macintosh Finder.
So I downloaded a utility called decoder and it did the job:

Thanks everyone for your replies

Or as i told before. Stuffit Expander (free) for both Win & Mac. Unstuffs Zips, Binhex, Tar, SIT, GnuZip. You name it.
