I would like to program a flash movie that will stop fonctioning
after a certain date...
Does any of the experts on this forum could tell me how to do that?
there is a fla in the movie section that will show you how to do that. I dont know the name of the fla but I know I saw it listed about a month ago. If you have Jugglor by Third eye solutions at www.***********.com it will time out programs for you. Regards, Bill

In the beginning the web was without shape and color, and the hype covered the darkness of the net. Then there was a Flash and life came to the web and vision became reality.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
The problem is that we cannot use Javascript.
Actually I made a swf movie out of a fla file then I created a projector exe
file. I used then Jugglor to finish the project.( It only permits you to set a number of days of validation but not a date)
The problem is the the following. We put a e-prescription into a diskette
and our young patients can play with it and do their exercises and take
their medications. But we want to make sure that after a certain medically
important date the file stops working and deliver a message like 'You should
go back and see your doctor for a new e-prescription'.
I have tried SwiffCanvas Beta. But it does not work properly and I would like to collect the date and write it into the
registry, then check the date when opening the file again.
I have thought about creating a text file and store it into the C:\windows
directory. But flash 4 retrieves info from a text file but does not create a
text file where we want and writes variables into it. And of course does
not permit to get the system date and time.
I have thought also using MMB which does it whith plug-ins but The Flash
plug-in is not that good and the final file obtained is too big in size. We want
to keep those exe files below the 500K limit.
I Dont Know How You Would Get the date Though!!ill try and get it for you some how???
By the way i created the tutorial so if you have problems with it e-mail me!!!
SwiffCANVAS at http://SwiffTOOLS.com can save the the time & date of launch into a variable file at projector launch, so I think you could easily do these things using SwiffCANVAS.
