My web design company currently offers: Custom web design, website templates, and site maintenance. Any ideas of what else we could offer?

    All suggestions appreciated...

    kandieman...

before anything else, hosting, i would say, is a must...

get set up as a reseller, we use webstrike solutions, and pull profit each month...

it may not seem like that much cash initially, but once you build up a client base, it sure does feel good to send out yearly hosting bills

Thanks. I just spoke with my hosting provider, going to set up hosting service. This will bring in some additional income!

Anything else? I considered print-related services and graphics design, but I am not very good at either, any more suggestions are appreciated!

If you can design web, you can design print. Just work with 300dpi images vs. 72 dpi (for web).
There are tons of tutorials out there on the web.
You would be suprised just how easy it is.

What types of print-related things are there? I guess it is because I haven't tried it, but I don't see how someone would want me to do this kinda stuff, hehe...

    ..good one, dude...

Seriously, now - how about databasing, form processing or client-updatable info? PHP/MySQL is a new frontier for me and is looking VERY promising, and not terribly difficult.

Yes, I have actually started learning php/mysql, and with my last client I created it so he could update pages via the web.

    very good point...

once you have gotten a hold of "designing" you should definitely move into "development"... with databases and more advanced programming... definitely will make you much much much more profitable as a free-lancer.

I would recommend you moving into the areas were there is a higher added value to the product.

Yes reselling web hosting can make some money. But i suggest that you try to get into the cd rom market. With programs like director it is relatively easy to make simple slide show style corporative presentations for clients. and as you go along you will get better at it. And in my experience (we have just done a 210,000 run for a mobile phone repair company !!!) it is profitable.

you get 30 days with the evaluation ware from macromedia. i sold my first cd for 3,500 euros, got 50% up front and promptly bought the software!

    best of luck.
