can i move freely in the perspective box, like if u were viewing a game u would use a, s, d and w to more around with the mouse... if ur a gamer u would understand better... well i was wondern if i can do this with 3dsmax..

you mean within max, or when you output a file?
if you mean within max, than I'd suggest using the move tool... looks like a hand in the lower right.
check out the manual. that might help a bit too.

try using your middle mouse btn (if you have one that is) for basic nav...
mmBtn = pan
mmBtn + shift = pan (constrained to axis)
mmBtn + ctrl = faster pan
mmBtn + alt = arc rotate
mmBtn + ctrl + alt = zoom

mmBtn + alt+ shift constrains the arc rotate to axis.
dunno about arrays, i'm still trying to make a teapot
