what is flash mx server?

Hi, Im a bit confussed about how the mx server works, is it a back end application that is installed on a server? And do you need to find a hosting company if so does anyone have any suggestions.
Im interested in real time multiplayer games, but havent the php, asp or java skills to build one, does mx server mean i can now build these things? Anyone have any links to sites using this technology?

i can't really comment on whether or not you personally will be able to use the server effectively for your needs, but i can say that without knowing other basic programming languages, developing a multiuser gaming environment on the flash comm platform won't be a walk in the park
