    Smile

    /me opens his maths book

you really don't know or are you looking for the real function of sin cos tan? because i dont know the formula either.. i just know how to use them

this formula : soh cah toa
    Sin x: Opposite over Hypotenuse
    Cos x: Adjacent over Hypotenuse
    Tan x: Opposite over Adjacent

this is a typical right angles
    '''''''|\
    '''''''|'\
    '''''''|''\ hypotenuse
    '''''''|'''\
    '''''''|''''\
    '''''''|'''''\
    '''''''|'''''x\
    ''''''''-------'
    adjacent

and opposite is the side on the left

well sin cos tan is a formula designed to find the angle given you have information of the sides or one of the side and the angle

i think in flash you use math.sin(blah)
where blah can be a value or a variable

    does this help?
