I want to replace my old Java streaming webcam with a Flash webcam so that people have less problems viewing it. I don't want anything fancy, just video of me in a box. Is there a tutorial or anything for this? Communication Server has been pretty overwhelming and it's hard to learn since there doesnt seem to be much info available on the net.

Hey - I just posted a sample file that probably does more than you want, but it has everything you need in there.

Another option (much cheaper, not real video) is to take a snapshot from your camera and load the image into flash at set intervals. There's an example here on flashkit in the movies section.

video streaming without flash mx communication server (codename tincan) here is my solution for a classic picture streaming!

u'll just need a ftp connection and a app like webcam 32, cool cam or stuff...

its the cheap solution (just to get rid of that f...ing java stuff) and you may include or load it into your swf!

    cheers,
