You can use transparent flash on a pc, but I believe it doesn't work on a mac.

In the embedded portion of your flash movie inside the html file, include this attribute:

    param name=wmode="transparent"

    Again, PC ONLY

    http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...ents/wmode.htm

Setback is that this only works with IE on Windows! Doesn't work with Netscape (or ...scrap!), nor on ANY Mac browsers.

damn... thanx for the help... any ideas how i can do it then? it has to work on every format...

basically its an html page with a picture of a face... and using asp it needs to call in a trnsparent flash file which is dragable so that you can drag the glasses over the womans face... is there any other way?

the whole site is data base driven using asp...

    Not with Flash I'm afraid!

Unless some virus would kill all Netscape browsers and Macs so that those folks would all have to get IE & Windows!
    Unlikely!

the other reason why there is no point showing you the site is that the only bit you 'need' to see is the fitting room... which is what im trying to build... but i cant build it until i know 'how' to build it lol...

damn flash mx, this job could have been so simple...

It's not Flash's fault. In fact it's even a bug in IE that allows it! Like some bugs can be good but not perfect, because then it would become a feature!

well, they should enable transparent bg's in flash, that would make it much easier for me... but anyways... ive managed to do it in javascript... the only problem now is that the transparency works in man but not pc... something to do with the png settings i think but its a bugger to sort out... grrrr.

sorry bud, that link only allows me to create transparency on a windows pc.

ive spoken to macromedia and they say that it is a problem with the compatability on the pc/windows format... they dont even have the answers!

we are looking at alternatives now but we may have to build about 600 flash movies and call each one in seperatly with the asp. easy to do... but will take ages!
