When I used to use IE all the time it crashed or froze at least once a day... I got NS 7.0 and it crashes but not as often as IE did for me, It crashes once every week or two, and when it crashes it doesn't take everything down like IE does.

rarely crashes for me and it's much better than the alternatives ie. Opera, Mozilla and NS although NS7 is very nice and I sometimes browse in that.

I have Kmeleon also... Have they gone up to the 1.0 build of Mozilla yet?

It crashes especially if you have the Java Plugin and hit two sites that use it. It crashes right up then. Also pages that had multiple SWFs on it like this place used to before the SWF ban would crash it so I had to turn of swfs off.

    Nope,

Either upgrade to a higher version or patched IE or switch to an alternatives.

IE 6 rarely crashes here, but it does occasionally get weird by taking up to 30 seconds for it to send data when a link is clicked on or whatever.

This even takes place after IE was told to repair itself.

No idea why. Just a quirk. Never happened with IE 5.5

    Possible Solution

When I had mcafee installed and set to scan within IE 6 it would always crash (About 20 times a day!) and ask about sending error reports. So i uninstalled mcafee and now use Norton and it's fine. It's really stable and never hangs etc.

Kmeleon and NS 7.0 imports all your IE favs. Its not an issue.

KM .7 (using Mozilla 1/1.1) is in the beta testing stage, and only has a few small bugs (two big ones on mozilla's side kept it back, but they are both now fixed). Should be out soon.

I was just chatting with a buddy o' mine and he was saying thay a machine he has (Win 98 v2) froze a lot when it was running IE. I said that XP was cool (don't tell anyone I said that, OK?) 'cause when an app goes down, the OS is still fine. Nice one.

Yeah, I use IE6 as my regular browser. Good stuff, that. I've got a ton of browsers installed to run sites through, and they're all pants compared to the usability of IE. (Don't tell anyone I said that, either, OK?)

Oh, BTW, IE4 crashes a lot when I use a broadband line, but it's fine with a dial-up, if that's any help or means anything to anyone.
