I've been trying to get my head around mx components with all their funny little quirks.

I just noticed that if components are placed on a masked layer their initial labels do not a appear. i.e. push buttons lose their name and comboBoxes their initial label. I'm trying to create a slidy interface with UI components included, so this masking issue is proving to be a problem

Anyone else had problems with this?

    Dear connoru,

The Buttons are using "Dynamic Text Box" to show their lablels. When a mask layer is placed over a "Dynamic Text Box" the content in the Dynaimc Text Box gets erased. To solve this problem their are 2 ways
    1. Embed the fonts for the "Dynamic Text Box"
(drawback: the font size loses its crispness and size of the .swf file increases.
    2. Set the mask at runtime.

    nice one,

I had a look at the scriptable masks, I think it should solve all my problems.

    Cheers
