    Ok..... on my main page a have a dynamic txt field which is loading in external txt... no problem there.

    But also on the page i have a movieclip which has another dynamic txt field which should load in txt but isnt.

    The movie clips instance is "sections" and within that clip i have the following code :

    loadVariables("guess.txt", _root.sections, "GET");

    guess.txt being the txt file (obviously)

    in the txt file it starts.... prediction=bla bla bla

    and the dynamic txt box varible is "prediction"

    IM BAFFLED :S

    is it because there are two diffrent set of txt being loaded

    HELP

    The "GET" is not necessary, but doubt that's the problem.

    loadVariables("guess.txt", "_root.sections");

    Should work fine... Must be something else you're missing.

    Maybe post your .fla or try using the new LoadVars() function as described here:

    http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...t_scrollmx.htm

    Only thing to be corrected in the above, would be to add the path to your textfield as:

    _level0.sections.your_textfield.text = this.prediction;

    Also make sure, if you do try this, to clear the Var box in the textfield's properties. The variable, as you can see, is set within the LoadVars() function itself.
