I know this has been asked before but I'm doing something wrong. I don't know what levels area about so if I can do it without that I'd like to.

I have a movie beling loaded within a movieclip off the main timeline.

The loaded movie has 4 frames.

The third and fourth frame have a movieclip (3 has a mc called email and 4 has a mc called scroller1).

I put a stop in the keyframe holding the first first movieclip.

I tried gotoandstop(4); at the last keyframe of the first movieclip - no luck.
    I tried gotoandplay("scroller1") - no luck
I tried giving scroller1 an instance name scroller1 - still no luck
    I tried _root.gotoandplay(4) - no luck

Can someone let me know where I went wrong?

    Thanks!

Would be better to have a look at your .fla!

What are you trying to do exactly? Trying to target specific frames in movie clips within an external movie (.swf) loaded in an empty container clip, set on your main timeline? Are you trying this from buttons? Where are the buttons? On the main timeline?

    FYI -

_level0.nextFrame(); works when the movie is played without using the master movie that calls this movieclip. Unfortunately - I've never gotten this level stuff figured out.
