How small is the character size?
Is your button (text & the button itself) set on exact pixels, ie x=50.0 as opposed to y=122.4?
    Have you embedded the font?

I've had that happen.. I believe it to be the act of the text's own illumination. Since the screen is all black, that black reflects the white glow of that little area of text, giving is a dimensional feel as to where the central text is bright white, and then it appears to alpha to 0(fade out) as it moves farther away from the root text, giving it that blurred effect. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to fix that I don't think. You can try to adjust the brightness of the movieclip if it is in one, but that turns white text grey.

In addition, it isn't all Flash/Your Monitors fault. Your eyes also help the illusion as they try to focus the brightness of the white, from the surrounding black.

I hope you found this useful-
