Hi everyone, I was hoping that someone had run across this and could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I filmed some stuff on a miniDV cam, used premiere to edit it, and exported to .avi. I can watch it with various apps and it is fine and dandy.

When I import the movie to flash, it allows me to do it, but plays the video on an angle! Sort of like watching pay per view without paying for it, you know?

So to make this nice and clear, the good movie looks like this

    aaaabbbb
    aaaabbbb
    ccccdddd
    ccccdddd

once imported to flash, it looks like this

    bbbbaaaa
    bbbaaaab
    ddccccdd
    dccccddd

    or something like that.

Anyone ever heard of this? It is sorta hard to explain, so let me know if you need further clarification.

    Cheers,
    Ron

    Hi.
    That shouldn't be happening.
Are you importing into an existing FLA? If so, have you applied any settings to the FLA that can skew your video?

I was exporting into an existing .fla, but have tried creating a new one and then importing the video. Same thing happens...

The only thing I can think of is that it's the way I am exporting the video to .avi, but since I can watch it with other apps and it's fine...I'm stumped...

Any other thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated...

If you export a swf, does the swf come out skewed?

Just wanted you to know you are not alone. I just had that same problem. I just exported to MOV.

    stupid movie

    Laugh...thanks!

I exported to .wmf, using the 1500k setting. That seems to work and the quality seems ok.

Strange that the avi does that though....

    Cheers,
    Ron
