I agree with you if you mean that we shouldn't be soft on terrorists in the future.

probably shouldn't train or finance them either.

was expecting a clinton foreign diplomacy comment cliff
Not particularly blaming Clinton...our whole government has been lax on the whole as far as punishing terrorists.

I'll tell you, on 9/11 was scary as hell when your fathers a senior fire marshall in NYC and you can't call him because the phones don't work. Also, the fighter jets flying overhead gave a grave tone to the day. I know plenty of people who lost parents. It was an attack that was very close to home.

    "punishing terrorists"

What crap is that? So where do we start? With those that funded and trained them shall we?

Sigh.... seems like many have not learnt anything from that day...

...the endless cycle continues.... I kill your brother, you kill mine, I kill your brother, you kill mine....

I know it's off topic, but I'm curious...

Is it so your post stands out more?

i saw some news on TV around a week or two ago... about a bunch of American business people or some such trying to sue some middle eastern countries like Sudan, Iraq etc. accusing them to train and harbour terrorists... ROFLMAO i've heard some american ridiculous lawsuit stories like the Macdonalds one but this one tops them all...

how come they didn't sue US govt for training Osama back in the 80s??? hehehe...

You know what..you're a genius. Why didn't I see it that way before?!

We'll just send Osama bin Laden and his friends halmark cards and chocolate candies. (Russel Stover of course)

It isn't his fault that he kill 3,000 innocent people.

    Dear Osama,
We're sorry for being so mad. Please forgive us...

    With all our love,
    America

P.S. I hope you like the chocolates.
Does anyone know his email address..I'll send an ecard if so.

I don't know how you can post that after Killabry's post. Real people died...innocent people. You seem more concerned that we will kill the perpetrators of the crime. Countries that are soft on terrorism are targeted by terrorists.

You kill us...we'll kill you. That's they way it is going to be....like it or not.

    Dang libs

i feel sorry for the innocent American people who became victims of terrorism... retaliation is unavoidable i guess but that comment about cycle of violence is true too... i just wonder when and if it will stop...

They cycle of violence doesn't always continue.

    Look at WW2...

Look at the US war with Japan.

Sometimes peace means total victory...meaning the other party is unable to go to war the next day.

those examples are wars against sovereign nations... i think this is more like war against believe... those terrorists believe in something so strong that they are willing to sacrifice themselves... how do u supposed you fight that??? the nazis for example... america fought them before but now some americans are actually members of groups with the same believe that their grandparents paid with blood fighting against...

You have a point for sure.

i think this is more like war against believe... those terrorists believe in something so strong that they are willing to sacrifice themselves...
    Don't legitimize it.

how do u supposed you fight that???
    Everytime it happenes.

the nazis for example... america fight them and now some americans are actually members of groups with the same believe that their grandparents paid with blood fighting against...

True, but in a way you make my point. The nazis were defeated in Germany and we live peacfully with many Nazi Americans today. We fought with the ones that took their beliefs to the level of killing people.

Same with communism. There's nothing wrong with being a communist. There is something wrong with using it as a tool for killing those who don't agree with you or fit the mold.

Now I realize that the whole belief of some of these murderes is that America should be destroyed...I don't know how to fight that except for making sure you destroy every faction of them that you know exists.

that works both ways apparantly and unfortunately

Why are the same people that are so 'outraged' by things like 9/11 the same people who always want to jump into a war- even without provocation?

I swear most Hawks secretly love incidents like this - it gives them an excuse to go to war-

Its easy to be a hero in times of disaster - its much harder to be one during times of peace

clif... those are hate believe... u fight them at every turn and the hate just grow stronger...

those neo nazis... the govt don't do anything about them coz it's their "constitutional rights" but all it does is giving them chance to spread the hate and sooner or later it will claim a victim then u go and fight them... after a while things quiet down and the hate keep spreading and one day another "incident" will happen... and so on and so on... where's the total victory u talking about? if u can't even get rid of that, how can u get rid of terrorists?? believe me, the cycle will never end...

It can never totally end...but military retaliation will slow it down for sure.

The beliefs of the terrorists are built around hate and murder. Appeasment doesn't work with people who want to kill you regardless of what you do.

Destroying every weapons and hideout they have can certainly help though.

I do see your point though..

    Killabry,
i remember the day well. I remember how frightened everybody was........
    http://board.flashkit.com/board/show...0&pagenumber=1

It frightens me still because it has led us to a world where first strike is considered defence.

It has turned the world upside down. We are now allowing our leaders to remove our freedoms to protect us from those who would remove our freedoms.

There's nothing wrong with Democracy either but we killed thousands of Vietnamese over it. We continue today to fund and train and arm blood thirsty regimes oppposed to soveriegn Communist or Socialist governments.

The point is that something besides vicious hate and blame should be taken away from this incident- obvviously its easy to be hate filled and angry , even months after it happened but what would hopefully come out of this would lead to broader understanding of our role in world events- it hasn't really happened but you would hope it would. IMHO

communism is actually a decent idea where they try to demolish social classes or gaps or watever u call it... where everyone is equal but of course the idea was flawed...

I don't know if it has been pointed out or not, but I would just like to inform all you folks that at this point in time, more innocent Afgani civilians have now been killed in America's "war against terror" than American innocents died in the 9/11 attacks. Also, while America is spending billions of dollars fighting and enemy in Afganistan that no longer exists, all the while killing more innocent people, the Palestinian retards in the West Bank and Gaza are running rampant and could use with a little more of an ass spanking from the Americans as well as from the Israelis.

    Way to go America!

It's not true at all...probably came right from the Taliban themselves.
