    I have a room template ..walls and stairs..
    I seem to be having trouble importing a .3ds file into my room..
    I click on open new 3ds and it just opens up a new document with the 3ds file..?

    Is there anyway around this or any way to copy a 3ds file and then paste into my main document?

    thanx

    No, you can't import a .3DS file into an existing document. You have to create a new file for it then copy/paste whatever you want from it into your other Swift3D scene.

    What rush says, step by step;
    1. open your room template
    2. open the .3ds file
    3. click Edit/Select all (or Ctrl+A) and then Arrange/Group (or Alt+G) (You may not have to do this but i's always better to be safe)
    4. click Edit/Copy (or Ctrl+C)
    5. switch to your room template window (or Ctrl+Tab)
    6. click Edit/Paste (or Ctrl+V)
    (Note if you cannot see the pasted object then click Zoom camera extents (the button with the magnifying glass))
    hope this helps
