I was actually just wondering if there was any testing or research on whether users like the whole "fullscreen" issue, or if they prefer a smaller window come up with the Flash movie inside of it. I'm debating whether to publish my presentations so they fill the browser window or come up cleaner. If anyone has that information or know anywhere I would be able to find it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You should post this in The Lounge... but the answer is no, people don't like fullscreen.
-
Definitely not, web surfers, do not like having there right to easy navigation taken away. Also alot of people think it's an error are their computer has crashed when a site goes to full screen
-
*dont like fullscreen
i like chromeless window popups

nope
another vote for hating fullscreen

Great, Daddy-O!
I dont mind, as long as they tell it beforehand
-
actually...
It probably depends more on the quality of the page and ease of user control.
for a perfect example of a totally cool fullscreen (and it doesn't ask if you want it), goto
http://www.ego7.com
they give you the option to minimize or close the window in the normal place (upper-right corner), and the thing is so clean and sharp, it's a joy to behold!
It's probably important not to overwhelm the user (confusing interface), or make them have to try to figure out how to get out of it.

Yeah, its best to have two options and not just popup the fullscreen window without asking - that drives me up the wall.
Properly thought out windows with adjustments options though would certainly make me reconsider my dislike for fullscreen.

For me personally I hate fullscreen I would rather have it in the same browser I originally went to the site in full screen changes and pop-us just tend to annoy me.
-
I hate it! I can't stand when people have that on their site.
That's my 2 cents

I think in general full screen is a bad thing, but it can be used sometimes.
I made a site that was sort of like a windows gone wrong (no that it is that great anyway) where I used the full screen to unhance this idea.
If you would like to use it then provide a choice for the user. Normal browser or full screen. It only means putting in one extra link with slightly different java script. Peolpe like to have a choice so hopefully you want annoy any of your users.

Never on a fullscreen....and if you are gonna..give them a way to CLOSE IT!!
So sick of being tricked into going to a site by some kid..who thinks fullscreen is SO cool..and doesnt have the decency or worse...the SKILL to put a close button on it.
