    Hi.. I've received an oportunity at my job to work as a Web Designer or Web Developer, but I just know Basic Flash and DreamWeaver.

    All I wanna know is..

    What courses should I take?
    Is it worth buying books about web design?

    If I wanna be a web designer.. what knowledges should I have?

    html, client-side-scripting (javascript, vbscript, etc.), server-side-scripting (ASP PHP CGI, etc.), database (MySQL MsSQL Oracle etc.), graphics (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

    Import these days to learn xhtml and xml in addition to all the ones previously mentioned. Does not hurt to learn the wireless version of xml(wml).

    Learn some fireworks, 3D program(like 3D Max ) and a video editor program like premiere. Also good to know Director.

    Congradulations on the job. I have all the skills mentioned and have been looking for a web developer/designer job for over a year with no luck. So enjoy the job, learn as much as you can quickly. Best of luck.
