If you feel the need to copy a site (totally) you better make DAMN sure you have the skill to make it look GOOD!.

At least that way you'll just be a thief!! Instead of an untalented, fool of a thief!!

I mean..taking an effect..and tweaking it here and there...we all do it some where. But to steal every last bit of detail..of not even bothering to change it?..LOL.. CLASSIC!!

glad you enjoyed it, another domain was forwarding to the real 2advanced site before, though they were keeping their name at the top, using frames a suppose, whereas these guys don't seem to be trying to make people think it's theirs.

Doesn't make sense either way to me!?!

    WOW!

An impressive site 2A crew, to be sure

But even more impressive, and thankfully so! - is this fantastic thread!

Congratulations and BIG thankyou to Nevil of Theory7 for shifting this discussion into 'T7' GEAR! and for representatives of the 2A crew for responding in the professional manner expected to befit such a professional operation.

I have spent little time on FK in the last few months, most of it dedicated to fly-by-wire browsing of the cool sites thread, looking for eye candy at 3am.

This is the first time in months that I've sat down and read right through an intense discussion. More importantly, this is the FIRST TIME EVER that I've read through a 2A discussion and have closed the thread feeling encouraged and 'god forbid' EDUCATED! - Having left most 2A threads at the point when representatives of the community were showing a little less maturity and forward thinking than one would hope to see.

I look forward to more experiences like this! - And if anyone can point me in the direction of similarly outstanding, educational conversations among the clouds, I'd be very grateful.

    Thankyou Nevil and Co.

And Thankyou 2A for providing inspiration of a different kind...

    Have a good nite all

Nevil I have a question for you,

Why is your site (or vice versa) so similiar to ego media in the whole gray/organge dropshadow look.

I am going to use it to for my site but I am wondering who had the initial idea?

    Peace...

there was a german designer in the 30's who had a similar style but with print (obviously), I forget his name but I'd credit him with it if anyone.

    Don't worry about it.

Egomedia and theory7 are similar? Don't focus your attention only on the presence of many quadrangle elements in both sites. The rest is very very different...

    HOL - LY!

That certainly puts things in perspective... makes this place look like the miltary...

Wow... Maybe he was writing in response to 'them' more than 'us'

Man, from an aesthetic standpoint this site is great. It is tight.

I must agree with aversion's initial post about how sweet it looks being left-justified, rather than the traditional 2A centered. It *is* sweet, and has a butt-load of content to boot

It sucks that everyone has to nitpick etc. but as it has been mentioned before... being one of the best lends itself to some of the harshest criticism. When a site, or in the case a design studio, consitently puts out high quality [even if quite-themed], then people cannot complain so much about the typical quality/aesthetics issues then they must find the minute-est thing to bring up.

To put in my 0.02 about 2A and their newer sites looking more and more alike ... who cares!? 2A can rightfully use design elements of their own site, no? Afterall, it's their's I tend not to agree that all their sites look like clones of one another, but will agree that they may have similarities. Clients *ARE* always right, and if they want sites to resemble design elements of the 2A site then so be it, that is what they will get. I think each one of those sites still has its own personality, and purpose.

Then again, maybe no one agrees with me and I am on crack. Either way...have a good one
