What do you think of my crappy pic?
I can't work out such great images as I see on the net.
Where do they get their inspiration?
I never have none, any tips?

hey, it's not all cause of their great inspiration.
I think most of the stuff you see is relatively easy to do when you have all the skills.

In your case try to experiment with all that trendy stuff you see.
get yourself some tutorials, examin opensourced PSD files and
learn from them. That is not a wrong thing to do.

Once you know what you are capable of, ideas will be much
more easy to accomplish cause you know where your restrictions are.

no, but one thing you can do is check out some books at the bookstores.. they have a few really good ones that explain how to do a lot of the cool stuff...
play around with layer types (screen, overlay, light, etc.) too...
sometimes just duplicting a layer and changing opacity and type will give you great effects... equalize can sometimes be really good to even out the brightness/contrast too...

layer types/opacity are crucial to the trendy stuff..
