Hey guys,
I want to get Swift 3D and need an advice. I need to choose between Stand Alone (v2) and Swift 3d Max.
Which one is better?
(I have old version of 3dMax itself but it is like 4 years old or so...)
Thanks.
Olga.

what version of max?
if it's max 3.x and up, I'd say go with the plugin. You'd have access to the 3ds max toolset, and be able to model anything you'd want. and animate as well.

I think 3.x of 3dmax.
So, you are saying that stand alone has less abilities?

the $159.00 standalone can not do the same kind of modelling as the $3500.00 3ds max.
no mesh edits, no boolean... but they both have the same, great Ravix2 - and soon, Ravix3 - flash rendering engine...
If you have 3ds max, I always suggest go with the plug-in and render within 3ds max. simple, elegant, and you can use the tools you already know/love.

Thank you.
That helps!

glad I could be of some help... don't forget to come back and show us some of your work when you buy the plugin and get some work done!
