Swift 3D V3, looks very very promising. Why buy Plasma?

If it´s because plasma is similar to 3D studio MAX, well no problem, people could use de Swift3D exporter. and it´s alot cheaper.

i know that some people choose plasma because of the shockwave features...

    Smile viva swift3D v3 huahuu

basicaly, plasma is a little 3D Studio Max with great SWF export features. I´ve been playing with the demo version. But if want complex animations i rader use 3d Studio max and export with swift 3d exporter, or learn to use really well Swift 3D V3.

Note: Excuse my english, i don´t speak very well.

plasma has a better swf exporter then what erain has to offer, if you zoom in on both you'll realize that plasma has a much cleaner vector graphic

I'm going to have to disagree with that statement unless you can show me an example of the two side by side. And does this comparison include similar file sizes?

Am I right in understanding that Swift 3D V3 will be able to have textures on models in exported swf files? Does Plasma do this ?

Does anything do this ? :P

Rush is right in that the best exported vector output is still Swift v2. Plasma is clean but is not as compressed as Swift. Side by side same models the Swift plugin exports cleaner smaller files.

Plasma vs swift v3 for raster images. Plasma wins flat out. its much like Max when it comes to using textures.

Swift has some cool things going on with textures that it alone can do but. when it comes to realistic rendering Plasma is going to win the contest. Regards, Bill

So just so I can get this clear in my head. Textured objects in both programs are Shockwave 3D not Shockwave Flash?

as many times as i zoom in (to fix up swift 3d models) on swift 3d and plasma, i found that plasma has lines where there was an edge, on swift 3d they have clusters of lines going everywhere when there is a corner and the fills look bad when you zoom in to..i can take a snap shot later on to prove my point

no... Swift3D has nothing to do with shockwave and director

Swift3D.v3 outputs to the following formats --

    vector formats (( .swft | .swf | .eps | .svg | .ai ))

    raster formats(( .swf | .jpg | .png | .bmp | .tga | .tif ))

Excellent, isnt that something Plasma doesnt do?, Export object with textures on them to swf. From what I can see Plasma only exports with textures to w3d files.

I that case I shall be going for swift3d v3
