want my start menu bar back :(

i was on one site , when i hit a link and it took me a to a porno site , i didnt notice what is happening but soon after the page loaded my screen starts flickering and i was like i m F..... up , nothing was working out for me that time not even the CTRL+ALT+DEL so that i can reach task manager and can kill bloody apllication or software , well system was unstable for mins and when everything came back to normal i was left with this

i did checked for viruses and even the back processes if any running but nothing is there and i m cut off with my beautiful start menu bar

please help me get it back .
help will be appreciated .

anyone here experienced this ???

just a dumb suggestion, have you right clicked de task bar and checked the options? check on the Documents and Settings folder, if there's everything in order. for now, its all i can suggest, i'll check better when i get home

And whats this?? An outbreak?? Lately there have been like a dozen "I lost my Start Menu / Tool Bar etc etc..." threads in the CL ......

the only similar thing that happened to me, was once i was playing with some user permission, and i managed too hide the start menu completly...

Reformat with the Refomat without Dataloss option or whatever that is. This keeps your data but reformats the Windows files.

Try clicking on your taskbar/properties/advanced and then in there is "Start Menu Settings" scroll down in the little box and there should be various options to display your control panel/programs/etc. Check the ones you want, apply the change and you should be good to go again.

Works in Win 2k Pro anyway

Can't suggest anything more than what other's have posted about your problem, but you should get rid of Kazaa. That thing is full of spyware. Don't know about you, but I want to send as little info out of my comp as possible.
