I am looking for any kind of direction into creating patterns and backgrounds as found on the site http://www.egomedia.com (go to the ego7 selection on the home page). They appear to be vector. In photoshop these can easily be created however I would prefer to create the art as vector. Thanks.

If you mean the dotted graph pattern, that should be easy enough to do in Flash...just turn your grid display on, create the dot and shadow and duplicate it to fill the amount of space you are using.

while we are talking about patterns, can i ask someone how to edit a pattern once its created, i often find myself creating patterns but later on finding i want to change the pattern colours, but im always forced to redo the whole pattern again, is there a way to edit an exsisting pattern and then rename it as a new pattern?

    (fireworks or photoshop)

    Thanks

That's one of the areas where Corel has been ahead of Adobe for years, they have offered editing within the program of pattern fills.

It looks like add on plugins like Pattern Workshop are the way to go with Adobe, or pattern reconstruction.
