1.move you button onto the movie
    2.double click it
3.A pop up window will appear
    4.click on the action tab
    5.click on the "+" sign
    6.select the "on mouse event...".

After that, you can assign all kind of action to your button.

    Question

im not sure what youre having problems with. you want to embed a button into a movie clip? if thats what you want, create a new movie clip and drag an instance of your button into the movie clip. im assuming you understand how to place instances of your button onto the stage (hey, we were all newbies once *smiles*)

okie, after the making all 4 frame of the button...

    1. click on the "edit scene" and go back to your movie stage. The "edit scene" button is located on your top-right screen.

    2. open your movie library(Ctrl-L), you will see a list of symbols on the library that you have made.

    3. select your button on that list. Your button will appear on the library preview screen(the little screen on the library window).

    4. drag the button from the preview screen and put it on your movie stage.

Hope this is what your looking for......
