    Hi

I'm trying to build a jukebox on an interactive cd built in Flash 4. I can get a song to be randomly chosen from a list. When the song is chosen, it loads an swf file from a folder. each of these swf files contains a song in it and at the end of each song, there is an action unloading the movie from the main movie and telling the "picker" movie clip to choose the next song.

The actionscript at the end of the song goes as such

    Unload Movie (1)
    Set Variable: "/:whichsong" = Random (9) + 1
    Begin Tell Target ("_level0/picker")
    Go to and Stop (whichsong)
    End Tell Target

Am I completely off track here? If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanx

    mandrill,

If this is the script located in the playing song mc

    Unload Movie (1)
    Set Variable: "/:whichsong" = Random (9) + 1
    Begin Tell Target ("_level0/picker")
    Go to and Stop (whichsong)
    End Tell Target

then as soon as the first command of Unload happens
it vanishes, along with the next lines of script.
    Which it hasn't read yet.

It may work by just removing the unload command.
But a better way would be to have the frame "whichsong"
doing the unloading just before it loads the new song mc.
And don't worry about it being nothing to unload on the
first time through. It will go along as if it did!!

    Hope this helps.

    Thanx for the quick response.

I have already tried the actionscript without the unload function and it still doesn't work. I'll try and put the unload movie function in the "picker" mc and I'll tell you what happens.
