Thread: how to do this.

    hey, i have this rasterized layer with this fade in it. it goes from red to white but i need it to go from red to transparent. how would i do this? if you dont understand say so and i will try to clarify. cheers dave

    1st: I'm not complaining, but you guys could tell what program are you talking about... (different progs, diferent answers, version matters too )

    I'll guess its PS

    double click on the layer palette, in the gradient icon, a box will appear, double click again on the gradient, you have two slider bars (one above and other in the bottom of the gradient). one controls the colour, and the other the transparency/alpha.

    thanks for the answer. good guess on ps(7.0). sorry i forgot to include that information. but is there a way to make just the white turn transparent instead of the entire layer(white and red)?

    you can always use some blending, and see what happens (perhaps darken or multiply) but what i told you earlier is better, and pretty simple
