Just export from .dat to a format that can be imported to flash (like .avi, .mov).

What did you convet to? You need to have that codec installed in some other software on your machine (like quicktime) in order to import the file.

Well you have to be starting with some codec - everything gets compressed - .dat is some form of compression.

What you need to do is export from whatever program you are using to a different format than .dat, one that Flash recognizes like .mov or .avi. It all depends on the machine you are using and the codecs supported on that machine - and thus supported to Flash.

    1. What program are you using to output to .dat?
    2. What are the other export options.
    3. What other video players do you have on your machine? (Real, Quicktime, etc).
    4. What kind of computer and OS are you using.

There may be an easier way, but I use this free program to convert dats to avi/mov.
