    mySql structure for forum

hello. im planning on building a board, much like the one at eviltwin.co.uk (except mine will have multiple forums). ive been looking around at how other forums store data in mysql, i recon phpBB is top bannana at this stuff, however, im pondering as to why v.2 of phpBB uses two tables for storing individual posts (one for the subject and content of the post, and another for everything else). is this significant at all? a great increase in speed etc ?

Yeah, its probably mainly for searching and sort of a good design thing....when I was reading about MySQL a while back, every single source said something about "if you can't describe two items with a single term, they should be in separate tables", or something like that. Its all about good database design.......
