Pixel Art collaboration/project (open to all)

Well, I only posted this as an idea. I'm not much of a leader, and am way too way too inexperienced in pixel art. I'll try to get this thing off the ground though, but if anyone else wants to create the virtual land first, then divide into properties, go for it.

i am also very fresh in pixel art, but I'm willing to give it a try. but first we need to establish some rules. how many land plots? land plot = one person? if so is that plot rotative or it always belongs to someone? is the plot assigned by a mod or something? can we be dump from the plot? whats the size of the neighbourhood (in pxs)? should it be some sort of character template, so that ppl in the whole image, dont look misplaced? should the previous posts be edited so we dont get to look at the same plots over and over again, while it's being constructed? any thoughts or ideas?

yea i think sum1 should create templates(very basic) of the charaters and/or houses, then u can post the files up and the participants can edit how they wish...jus so we can get a basic idea of how everything would look, so no1 goes over board or way off topic on the designs.
like we can add more stuff to the basic houses...

I think we were saying you get as much land as decided, and you can do what ever you want to that alotted amount of pixels. Is this correct?

Feel free to change it, but until somebody comes up with somethin' better let's roll with this size.

I'm gonna start on my arichtectural masterpiece as soon as I get a chance... let's see some entries!

We can worry about people and stuff (to keep the look consistent) later. We'll never get anywhere if we worry about that to start with.

we can make it 1024x768. Everything can be divisible by 8 then.

Someone should make a model person and then that can be the scale for us.

personally, I dont agree with it. the ppl would be very nice, to know what scale to work on. the same happens when you conceive an architecture project in RL. we must decide aswell if we use ppl at all, I've been checking some pixel related sites and some dont even use ppl! (i would vote with ppl though)

Do you remember a while back, with all the satalittes sent to mars, to discover stuff? Well, the one with the rover made it, but there were two more. The reason they both failed was because the two scientists were working on a different measurement system.

Here's a little something I knocked together. I think it's pretty cr4p, but it's a start.

The scale is probably too small - but come on people... if you want to set a scale, you gotta do it!

Hmmmm.... the template is a bit too small.. I think I can fit one building only... darn... and there is going to be a bit less details on them.. hmmm... Dunno... I think it should be a bit bigger. If we keep it that way, people will be 2x2pixels and thats a bit small. Dunno, just a thought...

Just to get an idea.. if you see this web page, check out the building size more or less...

Anyone have any good pixel sites to go to? The beginners that might want to join, but havn't found out what the h*ll we're talking about might find it useful.
