    global replace for actionscript

does anyone know a quick and painless way of changing a text string (such as a variable name) throughout all the actionscript in an fla file, including the actioscript held within every movie clip. The replace function in the flash's native actionscript editor only seems to check the current frame.

    thanks

both 5 and mx have the find and replace function. They can find, and or replace a single or all occurances within a single script, but not ALL the scripts in your movie. Director, for example, has this option. Flash does not.

If youre fairly well organized, with the help of the movie explorer (which can filter out scripts not containing whatever text it is you are looking for/replacing), going through each and using replace all shouldnt take too much time.
