    flv format ? extern?

Hello, how do I get a .flv file linked (not imported) to a .swf or projector? I thought player 6 could read .flv directly like .jpg ?

    thanks, Jean-Francois

From what I know, .flv has to be imported into MX.
Try importing to a new file and then using loadMovie to load in that external .swf

thanks for replying. But what's the use of getting Sorenson Squeeze if it's finally all about .swf 's? Squeeze can make .swf files straight away.

    A couple of reasons

    Here's why...

    1) Sorenson Squeeze compresses the video better than the codec that comes with Flash, so you'd save it as a flv for import into a flash movie or if you are using the Flash Com Server.

    2) If you want to use loadmovie without Flash com Server then you'd compress as a swf.

    3) Squeeze gives you alot more options than Flash it's self like stitching which is a great way to stream video in Flash. I'm just finishing up a web application with 17 minutes of video and it streams like a charm! I'll post the url here once the client approves the final app.
