    Company sites

    When you hand over a website over to a company:

    - Do you find out first if they can upload a site for themselves?

    - What will they do if they want to add new images and text on a 'Products' page for instance?

    For companies which do not want to or cannot (for whatever reason) update their own sites, you should include details of the prearranged deal to offer updates for their site in the contract that you have drawn up. Negotiate a rate, monthly most likley, how much of your time they get for their monthly indulgence, and then how much new pages should cost, on a per page basis.

    As the developer, you should at least do them the favour of uploading the pages to their chosen server. Just consider the basic questions you are avoiding by taking care of this. Trust me - your time will be well invested. Plus, you can make sure that if they say 'it don't work' you can, with confidence say 'it do'.
