let user erase part of picture

Hello,
I am working in Flash MX. My finished product will be show on a laptop - not on the web.

The user will view a .swf I want the user to be able to erase part of a picture that is inside that .swf

Is this possible"? If so How?

Hi Are you talking about when they go over the image, it fades by say 10% each time?

No, what I would like them to do is be able to erase part of a picture, like the bottom 1/3 so that the picture behind it shows through.

Would I be able to do this with a sizable mask, if I can't with an eraser tool?

O.KI think I undrstand what your getting at, I would probaly, splice the image and then put those sections into seperate movie clips, then on the buttons to remove those sections.
