    Lasers?

    What would be the best way of making a laser shot from a gun? i've been fidling a bit, but never seem to get it right - any ideas?

    1. add a cylinder to the stage and set it's radius to .01
    2. move it's pivot point to the base of the cylinder
    3. change it's y-scale to .01
    4. animate the cylinder to say frame 3 and change it's y-scale to 1

    you might want to bring it into flash or some other program to add a glow to the cylinder, after all lasers are pure light

    I would create what ever I was creating then import it to Photoshop and create the laser effect there... then add the animated shooting part in flash.

    can photoshop handle animation?

    never used the program, but planning on to

    i thought after effects was adobes video photoshop, sure does look similar and have tons of cool effects

    I think Denver_IV meant that you should create the instance for the laser and animate it in Flash.

    Photoshop can't really handle animation as well as ImageReady, which comes with Photoshop.
